About us

Welcome to REAL Zone - the after school clubs initiative of REAL School Budapest. This is a space and a community where we learn the skills and mindsets needed to change our world for the better, mainly through play, arts, crafts, and movement.

Most after school clubs in Term 2 will start on the week of 17 January 2022, some are starting a week later only. The last sessions will take place on the week of 4 April 2022.

Check out the offering below and sign up through this form.

As always, activities offered by REAL School educators and community members are free to REAL School students. Clubs run by external educators should be settled in advance for the first half of the term but, upon availability, they can also be accessed occasionally for a slightly higher price (extra 1,000 HUF per session). Of course, you can always try out the new clubs for free.

DANCE
with the children

6-14 years

Monday 16:00 - 17:00

At the beginning of the last school year, a real need to have a weekly dance club emerged, so some of the children decided to set up their own club - wow! The dance club has become one of the most popular after school activities, bringing together little ones and older students. The sessions are always filled with music, movement, new choreographies, practising for the show and of course, a lot of laughter.

Urban farming

with Szilvi from Capsul Farm

6-9 years (parents are also welcome!)

HUF 2,500 / session

Monday 16:00 - 17:00

Everything starts with tiny little seeds and week by week we will grow together. Experiencing how to connect with nature and digging deep into growing food in the city. Activities will be seasonal, adapting the organic gardening lifecycle. We will make it all easy and fun for kids (and their parents!) by creating experiments together and learning by doing. For example learning about biodiversity in the garden will be presented in a form of building bug hotel and creating seed bombs. During the term we will experiment every week with a different project from mushroom farming to worm composting. You can join for one occasion or come every week it will never be the same :)

FANTASY DRAWING
with Min Miller

9-14 years

Tuesday 16:00 - 17:00

Do you love pictures? Looking at them, wondering about them, making them? This kind of pencil drawing is fun, relaxing and mindful and can help build resilience and craftsmanship. We will draw on a variety of (child-friendly) fantasy genres, such as underground worlds, sci-fi cities, elven forest homes, or beasts as buildings, which artists can either pay attention to or not, as you choose (you may prefer just to focus on your own drawing project.)  Let’s look at each other's ideas, try some different techniques and create beautiful, complicated, fantasy work!

Over the time, Japanese drumming has evolved into an electrifying and powerful art form, and we at Taiko Hungary are dedicated to spreading the joy of Taiko drumming. Embark on this journey of rhythms with us, and try out the power, the energy and entertainment value that group Taiko drumming is able to offer!

Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art focusing on self-defence without hurting others. It is a comprehensive system of throwing, joint-locking, striking and pinning techniques. On the way, you will become fitter, stronger and more focused. Aikido - with a vast and profound philosophical background - gives the practitioners discipline, self-confidence and it teaches them to respect and pay attention to each other. Unlike many other martial arts, following the principles of aikido, there are no competitions.

“To injure an opponent is to injure yourself. To control aggression without inflicting injury is the Art of Peace.”
